Another commissioned work here on this nice kit produced by this company JP models, which Im not too familiar with. This kit is treated with full carbon fibre decals and clear coated with flat clear. There are many photoetched parts that comes with this kit which makes it look really sharp when finished. Most parts are nicely cast in metal and resin but sill require great amount of cleaning up. Quite disappointed with the clear side windows which i think the company vacuum-formed them quite poorly. Most parts fit pretty good and looks very accurate. In all, this is definitely a great 1/18 scale kit to have and work on.

Amuse GTR R35

This is the Amuse Version of Nissan GTR R35. This build is for a client of mine and it took me about a month plus to finish it, spending a total of about 170 man hours. But i must say it been tough to finish this. There are several issues with the transkit by Meko company, the resin parts given are either not necessary or not accurate. Therefore some reconstruction was done especially to the rear wing. Although there are still more minor inaccuracies, i have decided to concentrate only on the rear wing. Because if i were to reconstruct the whole transkit, then i might as well scratchbuild everything myself. Nevertheless, the decals given in the Meko transkit is good and accurate. Enough said, lets take a look of the Amuse GTR R35....

Ferrari F2007 (China Grand Prix)

This is the champion F1 car in 2007 F1 championship as driven by Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen. This is a kit by Revell. Overall, its a good kit but several parts are too thick and inaccurate and thus needs some modification. Several scratchbuild stuff was added and some examples are the side pods for aerodynamics as well as some sections of the front wing. Carbon fibre decals are applied on almost the whole car. Some weathering is done on the wheels as well as on the overall car to replicate a raced worn car. I especially love F2007 for its look and thus i will looking forward to my build on the Model Factory Hiro as well as Fujimi's F2007. Stay tuned. For now lets take a look of the Revell's F2007!

Ferrari F430 Scuderia

Another Ferrari to my collection! Very pleased with the overall outcome except for one area which i accidentally broke it. I must say its an excellent kit from Fujimi but theres are a few accuracy problems mainly from the rear areas like the grill, the windows as well as side fenders. Therefore i replaced them using clear plastic sheet as well as photoetched grills. I used the detail kit from Hobby Design. It was a very detailed photoetch parts but too bad alot of them are not really usable. Here you go, Ferrari F430 Scuderia!!

Nissan GTR R35

This is my newly finished model, the Nissan GTR R35! For this kit, i have added a few detail to it. I have used KA Models photoetch parts and metal transfers, together with their seatbelts and harness set. This beast is one of the best looking road car in my opinion. Ferrari 250 Testarossa

Well again, its my favourite Ferrari! but this time round it is an old Ferrari model, 250 TR. Its regarded as the second most popular Ferrari car, behind the legendary 250 GTO. This build was completed around 3 months ago and took me around 2 weeks. It a Hasegawa kit and i must say it is a great kit too. Most parts are fit into place without much problem though the wheels given are not close to the real thing. It was fairly a easy build considering that i didn't include too many details except replacing the air funnels and wheels with full metal parts(btw the wheels are still not up to my satisfaction, will change to better in the future) as well as some photoetched rivets. Let me present to you my Ferrari 250 TR.

Honda Repsol RC211V 2002

Rossi's 2002 MotoGP bike! This is my first attempt of a super detailed model kit in my modeling life. I used studio 27 photoetched parts for most of the detail areas with some scratchbuild parts. Thinner wiring is used rather than the ones given in the Tamiya kit. This is also the first kit i used an airbrush to recreate the exhaust staining.

Honda Repsol RC211V Valencia

Another Rossi Bike! I built this simultaneously with the normal version. Many photoetched parts and scratchbuild parts are added to this model too, almost as many as the normal version. A great and challenging kit when needed to add details. Overall, im happy with this bike and love it alot.

Yamaha YZF-R1

This R1 is a restoration project. It is used to be in original livery but due to poor finish and skill i had in the past, the bike was in terrible condition before i decided to give it a new look with some customisation. It was added with new exhaust from Taira Racing version, metallic body color choice as well as LED lighting for the headlights! Rims of the wheel are added with red lining decals as well. Overall i was very satisfied with the restoration result.

Hayabusa Special Livery

I wanted to build the fire scheme on the Hayabusa bike for a long time before attempting it. I looked for many reference on the net and finally found one thats suitable to my taste. The whole fire scheme is air-brushed painted with maskings. Quite a pain-staking process of needing to draw the fire on a paper, transfering the drawn pic to masking tape before cutting, applying and lastly painting. I even cut out the jap "haybusa" word, , using a chrome decal and applied it on the back of the bike. I entered this bike into 2006 Tamiya Model Competition together with the Rossi's Honda bike. Unfortunately it doesnt win anything but still its still one of my proud project.

Honda Repsol RC211V 2003

Presenting my 2006 Tamiya Model Competition winning model. The Doctor, Valentino Rossi RC211V! Sidetracking a little, he's the world MotoGP champion this year! Congrats to him! Well, this build took me a year and 3 months partly because i was in the army during that time therefore really lack of time. Another reason is that this is one of the build that i classified to be super-detailed as well. I spent lots and lots of time referencing from books and internet while building it. Many of the details were scratchbuild, for e.g. electrical plugs, electrical box, front area of fuel tank, exhaust pipe, exhaust springs, sensors, tubing, hose clamps, on board camera holder, side guard and etc. The bike is filled with studio27 and few other company's photoetched parts, like the clutch, pedals, pedals pad, rear wheel frame, rivets, speedometer and gear chains. Correct patterns of carbon-fibre is applied to the necessary area. For e.g. i use scale motorsport hi-def cf decals for the fuel tank and seat areas while i used the normal weave pattern for the clutch. That's the brief summary of what i have did with this kit.

Porsche Carrera GT

This is my wining model of Tamiya Model Competition 2007 held in Singapore. Its a 1/24th scale model from Tamiya. The kit as usual from Tamiya, is of a very high standard. Most details are given in the kit and i only added a few stuff on it, like photoetched brake discs and small details in the engine bay. The underpanel is full carbon-fibred as well as the doors, seats and engine bay. Seatbelts are also added together with scratchbuild buckles. Clear plastic provided by the kit for the engine hood was replaced by metal mesh from Eduard. Now lets take a look of the finished model.

A thrilling action at the Singapore GP!! But im quite disappointed because both FERRARIs performed poorly! I was at the Bay Grandstand, there are good and bad points about this grandstand but whatever, its a really nice and different experience especially being alone at the race! haha! Enzo Ferrari

One of my favourite cars of all time, Enzo Ferrari! I spent almost six months building this one and i have add a considerable amount of details in it. From Scalemotorsports Super Detail Kit to detail sets from Crazy Modeler and detail parts from Sakatsu, I invested quite a lot of money and time in this. Also, I did scratchbuilt several parts in order to make it as close to the real thing as possible. The most prominent is the front bonnet area, with luggage compartment and etc. During the build progress, there are millions of fitting tests to see if anything can go into place. Although Tamiya's kit is already fabulous, to me its still not enough.

Hi everyone! Welcome aboard to ABSOLUTModeling! My name is Roland, a Singaporean. This site is specially created & dedicated to those people who love automobile scale models but may not have the time or skill necessary to build one. Therefore, if you would like one of your baby to be scaled down and displayed on your shelves, here's a place you definitely won't wanna miss.!

Brief History of Myself
I have been into scale modeling for around 10 years ago through a cousin of mine. One day, looking through his cupboard i saw this model of a bike, it was Tamiya's Ducati 916. Instantly, I fell in love with that bike as well as the hobby since i have always been interested in miniature models and stuffs. Many may think my first model will definitely be the Ducati, but its not the case because the first model i did was actually a birthday present for me some 10 years ago. It was the Mercedes SEL600 by Tamiya too. Without any knowledge of scale modeling, i used superglue( which I still use now) for fixing the parts together and with a big brush from my art class to paint the body. I must say its not very nice to see the finished product. Well, from then on, i started learning bit by bit by myself. I have neither mentor nor teacher to guide me and no doubt i had wasted quite some amount of money and time of figuring out the basics of painting and etc. It was only until the last 4 to 5 years before i was totally convinced that I'm happy with the skills i have.

The first competition i joined was very small in scale, it was organised by the IPMS(International Plastic Modellers' Society) and was held in one of the community clubs (in Singapore) in 2002 or 2003 which i cant really remember. I came in third for the automobile category with a Tamiya's Suzuki Hayabusa. Then, there wasn't any competition that i knew of for the next 3 or 4 years before in 2006, Singapore Tamiya main distributor, Stargek, finally organised a large scale competition, held in one of the best shopping centers, Marina Square in Singapore. In that event, i came in first for the automobile (bike and cars) category. My winning model was the Honda Repsol 2003 Racing bike ridden by Valentino Rossi. In the following year for the same event, i had again gained first place for the automobile (cars only) category and my winning model was the Porsche Carrera GT. And 2008, I had been invited to help out in judging for a local scale modeling event and I feel honored to be able to help.

I am a fan of Ferraris. My target is to build as many Ferrari models as possible and thus its inevitable to see most of my updates will definitely be on Ferrari except if I have a commissioned job on hand. For those who also love scale modeling, lets keep this hobby going and produce more workpieces soon.
